Description
The picture you see is a suturing practice kit, an essential tool for a medical beginner who needs to know how to properly suture wounds Think of this kit as a place where future doctors or nurses can perfectly practice their craft without risk is not available to patients themselves. This includes the suture flap. This pad is about the size of a small booklet and has a variety of cuts for practice. In the kit, there is a needle holder, which is a long tool like a marker, used to catch and move the needle while sewing the faux skin and then, there are sewing scissors, which are not your normal household scissors. It is made with a special little hook that neatly cuts the sewing thread with little or no drag. They are about the same length as standard office cans.
Also included is a scalpel, which is a small, sharp knife that makes precise cuts. In this case, it is used on a practice tape to simulate an actual cut that a surgeon might make. Then there are tweezers, for picking up objects too small to be handled with fingers and holding them, like a piece of yarn or the tip of a small cut. Finally, there is a clamp, about the length of a pencil, for tweezing blood vessels to clot during the actual surgery. This learning device can be used to capture and hold objects, just like in real activity.
All of these tools are designed to give you a feel for the real tools used by surgeons. Therefore, when the student moves from the practice area to the actual operating room, the equipment will feel very familiar in their hands.
